Free concert alert: Crystal Stilts and Nude Beach play Brooklyn tonight

Two local rock & rollers put on a gratis post–V-Day show at a cozy Greenpoint dive.

How happy are you now that Valentine's Day wilted roses, overpriced teddy bears and stale candy hearts are gone for another year? Celebrate your freedom from contrived Hallmark holidays with a bit of free music.

Tonight, two local standouts, Nude Beach and Crystal Stilts, take the stage at Greenpoint dive Lulu's for a free show at 9pm. Nude Beach, a trio of Tom Petty–worshipping shamble rockers, had something of a breakout year in 2012, releasing the excellent LP, II, on Other Music Recording Co (and you might remember their memorable Tom Scharpling–directed video for "Some Kinda Love").

Dreamy indie-rockers Crystal Stilts, on the other hand, have been around the block a few times—we profiled them when their debut came out in 2008. This gig is a rare chance to catch up with both groups in an intimate space (read: get there early). Did we mention that Lulu's offers a free personal pizza with purchase of a beer?
