In our opinion, there is pretty much only one thing that makes this sidewalk-melting heat wave bearable: eating ice cream. A lot of it. To that end, the Uber Ice Cream campaign couldn't come at a better time, with temps tomorrow predicted to reach upwards of 99 degrees. This Friday, the car-service app is letting users order ice cream trucks directly to their doorstep—you'll only have to depart the safety of air-conditioning long enough to go to the curb and run back inside.
The delicious offering is happening in 33 cities, with local ice cream trucks Mister Softee and Van Leeuwen making the rounds in NYC. You can get $30 worth of frozen treats for six people (as with the taxi service, the cost will be charged directly to your account). Download the app on your phone here, and head over to Uber's blog for more details.
