Weathering a century is nothing to sneeze at, especially when you still look this good. To celebrate its big milestone, Grand Central Terminal was filled with speakers and performances through the day on February 1. Commuters and well-wishers also had the chance to buy new centennial stamps, eye a LEGO replica of Grand Central Terminal, check out the new "Grand by Design" exhibit and enjoy 1913 prices on select items (coffee for a nickel!). The festivities were rounded out by the big-band stylings of Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, who played to a dapper crowd under the Main Concourse's zodiac-painted ceiling. Plenty more centennial events are planned over the course of the year, including Nick Cave’s Heard-NY performance piece in March and the Grand Centennial Parade of Trains in May; go to grandcentralterminal.com/centennial for more information.
