Iconic LES haunt Max Fish is closing tonight, for real this time
It's last call for the beloved dive bar, and Lolita's is going away for good too.
Mon Jul 29 2013
Pink Pony, Motor City Bar…This week, we can add Max Fish and Lolita Bar to the list of Lower East Side watering holes that are seeing their untimely demise this year. (Although Max Fish will make the move to Williamsburg in the near future.) The Fish opens its doors to the public for one last time tonight, while Broome Street joint Lolita Bar will close for good after tomorrow night. (But never fear! There's a Soho House coming to the neighborhood! Oh, wait.)
As mournful tears roll off your beard and into your Pabst, have a look at Max Fish patrons' thoughts on the bar back when it was supposed to close in 2011; Bedford + Bowery has a pretty cool photo tribute to the bar, too.
