Improv Everywhere stages Black Tie Beach 2012 (SLIDE SHOW)

Improv Everywhere, which organizes the annual No Pants Subway Ride, hits Coney Island for the third Black Tie Beach stunt.

Cities all around America, including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, participated in the third annual Black Tie Beach earlier this month. Organizers Improv Everywhere kept the event under wraps with a last-minute location disclosure. The public stunt, which has a mandatory suit and gown dress code, baffled unsuspecting beachgoers at Coney Island. When asked why they were outfitted so nicely, participants replied with nonchalant comments such as “I just felt like dressing up” or "I have a job interview later and won't have time to go home and change." Mad you missed the fun? Don’t worry, the organizers made sure to discreetly tape the shenanigans. Check out Improv Everywhere's YouTube channel in the coming weeks for a video and official mission report.
