In a New York minute: Brazilian Blowout Split End Repair
Salon Ziba’s ten-minute leave-in treatment can banish hair’s split ends for four weeks.
Tue Sep 10 2013
Even if you’re not a slave to hot tools, your hair’s delicate ends can take a serious beating over time, causing them to fray. This quickie leave-in treatment claims to fortify weakened strands for up to four weeks, using a proprietary protein-enriched red-algae formula that fills in and smooths follicles. After your mane is washed twice with Brazilian Blowout’s Açaí Anti-Frizz shampoo (plus a round of Açaí Anti-Frizz conditioner), you’ll be led to a salon chair, where your locks will be combed and clipped into sections. Using a dye brush, your stylist will then paint the clear solution onto each partitioned chunk, from midshaft to tips. Since the potion is heat-activated, you’ll need to spring for a blowout ($41–$60), which is followed by a flatiron to further seal the cuticle. You’ll leave with super-straight, noticeably shinier tresses that are so sleek, you’ll have to stop yourself from constantly petting them. Brazilian Blowout Split End Repair, ten minutes $40, at Salon Ziba, 200 W 57th St at Seventh Ave • 485 Sixth Ave at 12th St • (212-767-0577, salonziba.com). Mention TONY to receive a free blowout when you book this treatment through Sept 19.
