Caudalie Boutique Spa
Less than a year after opening its West Village boutique, French beauty brand Caudalie has transformed an empty space at the back of the store into a single-bed spa, offering its downtown clientele shortened versions of the most popular wine-based treatments found at the Plaza Hotel’s Vinothérapie Spa. Although each item on the menu takes an hour or less, this extraction-free facial is the sole express service, focused on getting you relaxed and radiant in just 30 minutes. Your technician (we recommend Daphne Coulmance) will begin by removing makeup and grime with a mix of Caudalie’s Deep Cleansing exfoliator and Instant Foaming cleanser, followed by a mint-and-rosemary–scented toner spritzed from above. A drop of rich Regenerating Concentrate oil is then worked into the face and neck using pressure-point techniques, before the cool, creamy Peeling mask is slathered on to slough off dead skin. As that sets, you’ll be treated to a five-minute hand massage. Final flourishes include a dab of Premier Cru eye cream (applied as if drawing an infinity sign), a slick of Vinoperfect Radiance serum and a layer of protective Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF 15. You won’t need a mirror to confirm the dewy, glowing results. 30mins $65, at Caudalie Boutique, 315 Bleecker St at Grove St (212-308-3552, caudalie.com)
