In a New York Minute: Repêchage 30 Minutes to Beauty
This express spa treatment at Lovella salon leaves your hair, face and hands noticeably softer after just a half hour.

An example of multitasking at its best, this half-hour-long package simultaneously tackles the signs of aging in three places where it’s bound to be noticed first: hair, face and hands. Despite being part of seaweedcentric beauty brand Repêchage’s Facial Bar, which offers a battery of express treatments (some as quick as ten minutes) at the front of Lovella salon, the service is entirely executed at one of the four washing stations in the back. Settle in to a reclining leather chair to have your locks lathered using Wella products before getting slathered with a thick, amino-acid–rich hair mask. The self-heating mixture is then wrapped in insulating Mylar and left to set; as it does, your technician will perform a ten-minute mini facial that includes cleansing, a massage with pure seaweed-juice extract and a hydrating seaweed mask that feels cool and refreshing as it’s smoothed over skin. Once green- and black-tea–soaked eye pads have been placed over your lids, it’s on to the hands, which get brushed from wrist to fingertips with a soothing mask and covered in plastic. After a few minutes, the solution is removed via hot towels, and a lavender-scented shea-butter cream is kneaded in from the elbows down. At this point, the face mask will have turned rubbery and solid enough to peel off, and after quickly removing any residue and applying a light moisturizer to the visage, your aesthetician will rinse out the hair goop for the final step. To deal with your sopping strands, you can opt for a blowout ($45–$65) or—for those with time and budget constraints—a gratis braid or bun. Either way, you’ll leave feeling fully rejuvenated.
