Few singers have the sheer macho swagger of Lea DeLaria, who rose to fame as a butcher-than-thou stand-up comic and Broadway star, and has recently earned a host of new acolytes as Big Boo on Orange Is the New Black. In a series of late-night sets at the uptown jazz club Smoke, she promotes her newest album, House of David, applying her impressive chops to songs by glam-rock icon David Bowie.
