Does the above photo fill you with unbridled, nerdy glee? Then you'll want to listen to this week's episode of This American Life: This week's topic is "Doppelgangers," and for it, host (and crush object of erduite, public radio–loving folks everywhere) Ira Glass brought on Saturday Night Live and Portlandia star Fred Armisen. Backstory: Apparently Armisen impersonated Glass in an SNL dress rehearsal awhile back, but the skit never made it to air; however, NBC recently released it as a web-exclusive video, embedded below. (Armisen's imitation is pretty spot-on.) Once Glass got wind of this, the idea to have Armisen cohost an episode of TAL was born. ("This is the one place I'm famous enough that you can use this imitation," he quips at the beginning of the show.)
Give the episode a listen: Topics covered include artificial calamari (okay, that one is actually kind of gross), and the similar experiences of a veteran who served in Afghanistan and a young man who lived in inner-city Philadelphia.
