Bookworms and people who'd like to read more, no doubt you're aware that the Brooklyn Book Festival will soon be upon us—it's happening September 22. Now in its seventh year, the literary blowout will be preceded for the second time by Bookends, a weeklong series of activities and happenings throughout Kings County. Kicking off the festivities on Monday night is Literary Worlds, a gratis opening-night party to be held at the Bell House beginning at 7pm.
The deejayed shindig will feature plenty of drink specials, all the more to encourage you to mingle with fellow book lovers. Toss back $4 pints from Brooklyn Brewery and $5 cocktails with liquor from Greenhook Ginsmiths. And if you can't wait until Monday to satiate your passion for booze and books, add Lit Crawl NYC to your Saturday night schedule; it's a 29-event fest of readings, trivia and more sprawled around various watering holes in downtown Manhattan.
