It happens to the best of us: You exchange a glance (if not more) with a mysterious stranger and then forget to get his or her digits. Most of us shrug it off, content to go on with our lives wondering what could've happened. But those of us who are bolder take another tack: posting a missed connection on Craigslist in hopes that our special someone might see it and reply.
Psychology Today's Dorothy Gambrell analyzed each state's last 100 missed-connection posts to determine the most commonly cited locale for each one. It should come as no surprise that the subway wins for New York, while casinos top the charts in Nevada. Our favorite bit of information, though, is that Walmart pops up for not 1, but 15 states. Check out the map below.
Have you ever posted a missed connection? And if so, where did you meet your could-be special someone? Sound off in the comments.
