NYC Pillow Fight 2013

One of spring's quirkiest and most fun events has been announced: International Pillow Fight Day will take place on April 5. The ultimate padded battle happens annually in hundreds of cities from Buenos Aires to Shanghai, and last year's NYC iteration went down in Washington Square Park. The 2014 location has yet to be announced, but you can block off April 5 from 3 to 5pm for the whimsical combat. Also, the theme is superheroes and villains—so start brainstorming characters from comic books, movies, anime and beyond to plan your costume.

As per the event's website, here are the rules:
- Soft, feather-free pillows only!
- Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once.
- Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras.
- Remove glasses beforehand!
- Deposit pillows in donation boxes or take them with you.
- Pajamas are welcome.
