With all of its choreographed dancing and elaborate costumes, Magic Mike was practically made to be a musical. And luckily for us, Deadline reports that Steven Soderbergh's 2012 blockbuster flick is Broadway bound as Magic Mike, the Musical.

The forthcoming theater production shares some talent with its film predecessor: Channing Tatum and Soderbergh are among the show's producers. Tony and Pulitzer winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal) will write the musical's original songs.

In case you need more happy Monday news, let us remind you that a sequel to the Magic Mike movie is also in the works. You're welcome.

Ugh. Now TIME OUT has taken to reporting about things that MIGHT happen in the future? Hey TONY editors, don't you have info about 2000 things that ARE happening right now that you can report on? Isn't that what your magazine is supposed to be all about? If you are trying to generate clicks and need celebs to cover, this city is full of 'em. And they are out doing things that your readers -- and advertisers -- would be interested in knowing about.
