“I like Union Square Greenmarket (Union Sq West between 16th and 17th Sts; 212-788-7476, grownyc.org/greenmarket). It’s great for fresh produce. It’s kind of like Whole Foods prices, or even more expensive, because they’re organic and they charge by the pound.”

  3. Le Bain (444 W 13th St at Washington St; 212-645-4646, standardhotels.com) at the Standard Hotel is always fun. It’s an interesting mix of artsy people. There’s a spa that people just take their clothes off and jump into.”

“Museums are cool on Friday nights when you’d [normally] just go to dinner or a movie. MoMA (11 W 53rd St between Fifth and Sixth Aves; 212-708-9400, moma.org) has this cool Rain Room exhibition on right now where they simulate a thunderstorm.”

“I go to this really good rustic French place in Flatiron called Almond (12 E 22nd St between Broadway and Park Ave South; 212-228-7557, almondnyc.com). I usually get the croque-monsieur ($16), it’s basically a grilled cheese sandwich in a skillet, and they put ham and an egg on it.”
