“I’m a minstrel. I perform in the West Village at night—Christopher Street or Perry Street off Seventh Avenue. I usually serenade strangers, couples. I like to sing to couples that are holding hands, people that I see are in love. I do it to make them happy, or to make a child stop crying. Depends.”

  3. “I donate my time at Kateri nursing home (150 Riverside Dr at 87th St; 646-505-3500, archcare.org). They wheel people into the dining room and I play for 20 minutes. They can request songs, but I usually play my favorite Latin songs like ‘La Bamba’ and ‘Guantanamera.’”

“I perform in Central Park (59th St to 110th St between Fifth and Eighth Aves; 212-310-6600, centralparknyc.org). Sometimes I go to the fountain, other times I’m at the Imagine circle. I like seeing different people, different cultures.”
