“I brunch a lot; I like to eat. The Brooklyn Star (593 Lorimer St at Conselyea St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn; 718-599-9899, thebrooklynstar.com) is my favorite; they do Southern, homey, greasy comfort food. I don’t eat meat anymore, but when I did, I loved their fried chicken.”

“I go to Nike (locations throughout the city, visit nikesportswear.com) for my sneakers—that’s where I got these silver ones. They’re part of the Liquid Metal series that have an element posted on the tongue. These say ag, that’s the sign for silver. I’m a nerd, so I thought that was kinda cool.”

Brooklyn Bowl (61 Wythe Ave at North 11th St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn; 718-963-3369, brooklynbowl.com) is really cool. They have musical acts, and you can bowl and drink, and there’s food. Anytime there’s food and drink I’m like, sign me up!”

“I live in Clinton Hill and there’s this place near me called Madiba (195 DeKalb Ave between Adelphi St and Carlton Ave, Fort Greene, Brooklyn; 718-855-9190, madibarestaurant.com). It’s South African and it’s fantastic—I love their menu. I don’t have a favorite dish, because I like to try different things, you know? But their curry ($16–$22) is really good.”
