  • “I like to go to Astoria Park (19th St from Astoria Park South to Ditmars Blvd, Astoria, Queens; nycgovparks.org) with my dog, Kado. I’m at work a lot, so whenever I am home, I try to take him out more. I try for four times a day, usually. I know.… I’m pretty crazy with him. But it’s because he likes it!”

“New York City Bagel and Coffee House (29-08 23rd Ave at 31st St, Astoria, Queens; 718-728-9500) is my favorite—it’s got good vibes. I get a nice bagel sandwich with cream cheese, lox, capers, red onion and tomato ($11). I’m studying for the GMAT, which is a pain in the ass, so I go there a lot to study.”

“I love going to all of the bars on Ditmars, especially MP Taverna (31-29 Ditmars Blvd between 32nd and 33rd Sts, Astoria, Queens; 718-777-2187). They have really good appetizers—my favorite is the scallops ($14). They have good cocktails, too ($10–$15). Another reason it’s great is that it’s close to my apartment.”
