“I recently started rock climbing at Brooklyn Boulders(575 DeGraw St at Third Ave, Gowanus, Brooklyn; 347-834-9066, brooklynboulders.com). It plays with your adrenaline a bit—if you’re 25 feet up and your hand slips, your primal instincts kick in and make you fear for your life, even though you’re strapped in and totally fine.”

Russ & Daughters (179 E Houston between Allen and Orchard Sts; 212-475-4880, russanddaughters.com) is a Jewish appetizer place on the Lower East Side. I go for the Super Heebster sandwich with whitefish salad and wasabi flying-fish roe. It’s around 11 bucks but it’s good.”

“I’ve been taking the Citi Bikes (citibikenyc.com) out around the East River Park. I feel like it’s tough sometimes to be able to enjoy the outdoors in New York, so you’ve just got to jump on those opportunities to be outside.”

  5. “One of my favorite places in New York is this bar called Moto (394 Broadway at Hooper St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn; 718-599-6895, cafe-moto.com). It’s a kind of moody, weird corner spot that’s really well decorated with, like, anachronistic junk. It’s a cool place to hang out and get wine. I’m kind of stuck on Malbec at the moment.”
