New bookstore alert! WORD opens tomorrow in Jersey City
Greenpoint’s indie bookseller adds a new location across the Hudson, bringing literary goodness, holiday spirit and a café
Fri Dec 13 2013
Jersey City is getting a new indie bookseller. After the success of Greenpoint outlet WORD, which debuted in 2007, its owners have decided to bring a literary outpost to 123 Newark Avenue in Jersey City. You can get a first look at the new space during their soft opening tomorrow, from 9am to 10pm. Browse through the newly stocked shelves and staff holiday picks, and head back later this week, when the café will open to provide coffee and snacks to shoppers.
Not convinced? We’ll refer you to the shop's website, which answers the FAQ, “Why should I visit WORD?” in a beautifully dramatic fashion: “Because books are the repository of all that is good in this world, and we love them, and we love you.” So there.
