Nick Cave, Heard•NY at Grand Central Terminal

We're no Mitt Romney (we promise!), but we're fans of the dancing horses in Grand Central Terminal's Vanderbilt Hall this week. One of our top ten things to do in the spring, Heard-NY is Nick Cave's 30-horse sculptural installation, which also serves as costumes for periodic performances (daily 11am, 2pm) by dance students from the Ailey School.

We highly recommend checking it out before it closes on Sunday (Mar 31), but if you're going this weekend, make sure to get there early as there's limited capacity, and we'll betting there'll be a stampede (sorry) to see it.

Whether you're a FaceTweeter or InstaViner—or whatever the kids are saying nowadays—make sure you tag your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Foursquare or Vine post with #IHEARDNY. It'll be automatically displayed on this Creative Time website (Creative Time cosponsored the piece, along with the MTA Arts for Transit program). Once the exhibit ends Cave will pick his 100 favorite posts in what we'll equate to the best thumbs-up/retweet you'll ever receive.

The artist will also be discussing the work this Friday (6pm) at the Met. The talk is free with museum admission but, again, space is limited, so arrive early. Click the following link for event details.

And if you enjoyed the photos of the colorful equines above, make sure to watch the video below. There is something inherently delightful about the way those horses move.
