When the storm surge burst through the wrought iron door of Norton Records’ Red Hook warehouse, master tapes of original studio recordings, artists’ files, a quarter of a million records and nearly 30 years of correspondence were destroyed. The label—which recovered with help from volunteers, fans and past and present employees—is throwing a two-night shindig to offer its gratitude and fete its triumph over the catastrophe. Stop by two Brooklyn venues for back-to-back nights of DJs and live music: Highlights include 1960s garage-rockers the Sonics, who play Warsaw on Friday, and R&B chanteuse La La Brooks of the Crystals, who graces Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday.
