Alex Karpovsky in Red Flag
Lena Dunham isn't the only Girls actor with indie-filmmaking cred: Alex Karpovsky, who plays the curmudgeonly (and, as Shosh's somewhat bumbling boyfriend, kind of maybe adorable?) Ray, directed and stars in Red Flag and Rubberneck, both of which are out this week.
In his review, TONY film critic Keith Uhlich has this to say about Karpovsky's films: "In both movies you can see genuine talent poking through the festival-circuit tedium; hopefully Karpovsky’s better instincts will win out next time." Judge for yourself tonight at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, which will screen the two films back-to-back.
