Still best known as Beyoncé's little sister, Solange is finally emerging as a serious musical contender with the recent release of her awesome seven-song EP, True.
Helped by writer-producer Dev Hynes (who records as Blood Orange), Solange has created an understated sonic palette that's part '70s lounge funk, part '80s R&B, with a seductive synth glaze. Expect to hear from True and Solange's upcoming new album at Webster Hall tonight; the show is sold-out, but we're sure you can find tickets somehow.
