A true 21st-century singer-songwriter—and an artist for whom that term seems woefully inadequate—Marnie Stern has crafted a groundbreaking fusion of anthemic, confessional indie rock and postprog virtuosity—audible on her new disc for Kill Rock Stars, The Chronicles of Marnia (heh).
She headlines at the Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight, and local art-rock luminaries Talk Normal support.
