One thing to do Thursday: Hear a punk musician talk about death
Blake Schwarzenbach, frontman of bands like Jawbreaker and Forgetters, discusses his art at Observatory.
Thu Feb 7 2013
Only at Observatory—the Gowanus art space that frequently hosts events about taxidermy, obscure cults and other historic oddities—would you find yourself listening to a punk musician talk about how death influences his work. That's exactly what the venue is offering tonight: Blake Schwarzenbach, frontman for bands like Jawbreaker, Jets to Brazil and Forgetters (pictured above), wil discuss how mortality informs his creative process with writer Maccabee Montandon. Fans of Schwarzenbach's music will be happy to hear that he'll also play a short acoustic set.
