Start planning a fancy date now: New York City Ballet kicks off its winter season tonight with a Tchaikovsky-Balanchine bill, featuring Swan Lake, Allegro Brillante and Tchaikovsky Suite No. 3. The company will focus on Balanchine's works this season, but will also premiere a new piece by choreographer Justin Peck on January 31.
