There are certain warm-weather traditions we look forward to every year: the reopening of beaches and Governors Island, alfresco music performances and, of course, seasonal markets. This includes gastronome-palooza Hester Nights, the Thursday evening iteration of SuChin Pak's Hester Fair, which kicks off tonight (Eventi, 851 Sixth Ave between 29th and 30th Sts; 5–10pm).
You can snack on Thai street food from Khao Man Gai, made-to-order pies from Ludlow Pizza, Vietnamese sandwiches from Foodfreaks Banh Mi, and Peruvian empanadas and alfajores from Jessy's Pastries. On July 6 and 13, the event will also host musicians from the Blue Note Jazz Festival.
