Photo of the day: The new MTV moonman at the Barclays Center
Street artist KAWS redesigned the VMA statuette for this year's Brooklyn-set awards, and Instagrammed a photo of a giant facsimile.

We're still a little skeptical about the MTV Video Music Awards coming to Brooklyn this weekend—mostly because the typical clustermess around the Barclays Center will be amplified by about 1,000 percent—but we can't deny how cool the new moonman looks. NYC street artist KAWS redesigned the statuette in his signature style, and while a smaller version will be given out to winners on Sunday night, a massive, 60-foot-tall model will hang out over the main stage.
KAWS has been Instagramming behind-the-scenes shots from Barclays, including one snap of the gigantic moonman; check it out below.
