Preview Beyoncé's Coney Island–shot video for "XO"
While you were sleeping, Queen B surprise-released a new, self-titled “visual album,” available only on iTunes for now

Still via "XO"
Beyoncé's long-awaited fifth album arrived late last night without warning. The self-titled release is available only through iTunes for now—and its 14 songs come with 17 videos, earning it its "visual album" moniker. Amazing folks such as Jay Z, Drake, Frank Ocean, Pharrell and Blue Ivy (aww!) are credited among its guests and collaborators.
Anyways, about those videos—every song on the album has been given one, and then some. "I see music," the pop star said in a video announcing the album on her Facebook page. “It’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”
We're especially excited about the visual accompaniment for "XO," which got the Coney Island treatment. Bey was spotted filming at the iconic Brooklyn attraction this summer, and though you can only watch the Terry Richardson–directed video in its entirety if you buy the album on iTunes, a 30-second preview clip has been released. Watch Queen B cavort along the boardwalk, ride the Cyclone and more in the video embedded below.
