Reports: Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman dead at 46
The Oscar-winning actor was found in his Manhattan apartment on Sunday morning
Sun Feb 2 2014
Terrible news: Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was apparently found dead in his West Village apartment earlier today. The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news, noted that the NYPD is currently investigating, and no official cause has been determined.
Hoffman racked up accolades for both his work in films—he won a Best Actor Oscar in 2005 for the film Capote—as well as his theater performances; he most recently appeared on Broadway in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman in 2012. Whatever the venue, he was a masterful actor who will be sorely missed.
