For the first time ever, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is coming to Brooklyn, at the Barclays Center. (In the past, it had been held at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan.) Its Kings County debut will happen April 10, 2014. Tickets to the annual event will be available to the public (another first!); prices will be announced sometime in January, and the show will air on HBO in May.
The list of artists newly voted in includes Nirvana, Kiss, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt and Cat Stevens (who goes by Yusuf Islam these days). Chic, LL Cool J, the Replacements, the Zombies and Yes are among the acts shut out of the class of 2014.
