    Cumberland St

Two-bedroom in Fort Greene, $2,900/month ($1,450 per person)

We’ve showcased a lot of three-bedroom apartments lately, so this week, we’re looking exclusively at nice two-bedroom pads. First up is this place in Fort Greene, which got us excited for two reasons. Firstly, it’s an interesting space with both a yard and a washer/dryer, which is a rare find indeed. Secondly, we’re total suckers for a spiral staircase (except on moving day, obviously).

    309 E 93rd St

Two-bedroom in the Upper East Side, $2,895/month ($1,447.50 per person)

Sitting on the far east end of 93rd St, a short walk from the 96th St 6 train, is this two-bed with hardwood floors, queen-sized bedrooms and a refurbished kitchen. The main point of interest for us is that bathroom, though. Where does the floor end? Where do the walls start? If you’ve ever felt like showering in something that looks more like an M.C. Escher painting of a bathroom than an actual bathroom, this is the apartment for you.

    87 Stagg St #5B

    Two-bedroom in Williamsburg, $3,395/month ($1,697.50 per person)

Forget the gritty glamor of the (pretty recent) past—this is the kind of apartment you’re going to find in gentrified Williamsburg these days. Sitting several blocks from the heart of the action, on the wrong side of the BQE, this is nevertheless an attractive pad, with hardwood floors, on-site parking and a shared roof deck. Just don’t expect to be right in the thick of things.

    Riverside Drive & West 87th St #3B

Two-bedroom in the Upper West Side, $3,900/month ($1,950 per person)

This is the most expensive place on this week’s list, but on the plus side, it’s a duplex with a private roof deck and an en suite bathroom in the master bedroom. It’s also right next to Riverside Park, a couple blocks from the 86th St 1 train, so you do get something for your money besides bitterness and stomach ulcers (they come as standard with every NYC rental agreement).

    34 Russell St #4

    Two-bedroom in Greenpoint, $3,200/month ($1,600 per person)

Shot in loving high contrast (no yellow is that yellow, it’s just not possible) this place is 900-square feet, with an extra 500-square feet of private roof deck on top (literally). It is, unfortunately, just a block from the BQE, but assuming the windows are double-glazed, once you’re inside you probably won’t care.
