These are the 25 most-streamed love songs on Spotify

Love is in the…ear. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Spotify has released a list of the songs that receive the most play on February 14.

In honor of Friday's Hallmark Holiday, Spotify has shared its list of the top 25 tracks that get streamed on Valentine's Day, based on data from 2011 to 2013. The list features a bunch of classics—Whitney Houston’s "I Will Always Love You" is No. 1, and Marvin Gaye's "Let’s Get It On" rightfully made the cut, 40 years after its release—but it also includes current picks from Bruno Mars and Beyoncé (because, duh). Check out the full playlist here.

Spotify also consulted a psychology expert to ascertain the formula for a perfect love song. The expert concluded that the key components are: sentimental lyrics, a slow tempo, syncopated rhythm and standard chord progressions in a major key—all of which can be heard on slow-dance favorites like Mariah Carey's "Vision of Love" and Adele's "Make You Feel My Love." The perfectionists out there can stream some mathematically precise love songs here.
