Indie-rock royalty + a beautiful Brooklyn greenspace = an awesome night in July.

After going gaga a while back over the lineup for this year’s Governors Ball, we kind of put our summer-concert enthusiasm on the back burner. (Maybe it had something to do with how friggin’ cold it was this weekend, making summer seem a tad out of reach. Who knows.) But our outdoor-concert excitement skyrocketed today when we learned that Belle and Sebastian (who last played here in 2010) are part of this year’s Celebrate Brooklyn! fest in Prospect Park. And as if one classic-era indie-rock band isn’t enough, Hoboken mainstays Yo La Tengo are rounding out the bill. Woot! Tickets for the July 11 show go on sale this Friday at noon.
Today, Pitchfork TV also debuted a fascinating, in-depth doc on the making of B&S’s second LP, 1996’s masterful If You’re Feeling Sinister. Watch the 50-plus-minute film in full below.
