What could be more distingué than a film series celebrating French cuisine? Today the French Institute Alliance Française kicks off Films for Foodies, a monthlong homage to gastronomy on celluloid that starts off with three consecutive screenings of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, featuring an ’80s postpunk soundtrack and a feast of macarons for the eyes. Food expert Ariane Daguin and curator John Mariani will introduce tonight’s screening and will answer audience questions after the film.
