In 1931, New York artists Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning propped up a few of their paintings on the sidewalk near Washington Square Park and called it a show. A lot has changed since then: Now, more than 100 artists and artisans—including painters, sculptors, jewelers and glassblowers—exhibit their wares at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit. University Pl at 13th St to Schwartz Plaza at 3rd St. Subway: B, D, F, M to Broadway-Lafayette; 6 to Astor Pl; N, Q to 8th St-NYU; L, N, Q, R, 4, 5, 6 to 14th St-Union Sq.
