BRILLIANT - To say the least preforming "Roar" under the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Even the weather cooperated and that's not always something you can count on late summers in NYC. This new song by Katy is sure to become not only a mega hit for Katy. It will probably become one of her all time greatest hits of all.
Watch: Katy Perry performs under the Brooklyn Bridge
The pop star closed out MTV's Video Music Awards in Brooklyn Bridge Park with her new single, "Roar."
Mon Aug 26 2013
Unless you've been living under a rock—or outside the small circle of pop culture that still cares about MTV—you know that the MTV Video Music Awards happened at the Barclays Center last night. If you missed the show, MTV has a stream of the full event up now, and we recommend Vulture's GIF recap if you want a quick-hit version of events.
The ceremony was full of weird and sort of WTF moments (we're looking at you, Miley Cyrus), but it closed out with an iconic NYC landmark as the backdrop: Katy Perry performed her new single, "Roar," in a boxing ring underneath the Brooklyn Bridge (in the Empire Fulton Ferry section of Brooklyn Bridge Park, to be precise).
Check out the video of her performance below. (Not pictured: the "you kids get offa my lawn!" reaction from cranky Dumbo residents, who were surely not pleased by the noise and crowds.)
