Aficionados of carving up the ice have been spoiled this season with a bevy of rink openings, from the sprawling LeFrak Center at Lakeside complex (in the works since 2010) to the South Street Seaport’s skating destination announced less than a month before it opened. Williamsburg’s McCarren Rink, which opened in November as a seasonal attraction atop the McCarren Park Pool, shuttered on January 5 after a successful run; here’s a look at how New York’s latest rinks stack up.
