"I'm not a student anymore, but there are young-person discounts out there, right? Are there any good under-30 deals or discounts I should get before I turn the big three-oh?"—Marty C.

You have until you're 35 to get special deals at uptown's biggest events organization. Spoil your at-its-prime brain with some challenging concerts and readings; try seeing Joyce Carol Oates on February 21 for $10 (normally $27), or take in the February 26 performance by string quartet Takcs for $25 ($38--$52 to the fortysomethings). 1395 Lexington Ave at 92nd St (212-415-5500, 92y.org)

HipTix
Being a young theater buff has its advantages. TONY cosponsors this program for under-30s, which dishes out cheap seats for productions by the Roundabout Theatre Company. Catch their latest—The Importance of Being Earnest—for $20, while the oldies pay as much as $122 (cue an evil laugh). Sign up for a free membership and you'll get regular e-mails listing available seats two to three weeks in advance. 227 W 42nd St between Seventh and Eighth Aves (212-719-1300, hiptix.com)

Manhattan Theatre Club
In the 30 Under 30 Club, tickets for young'uns are only—yep—$30 to MTC productions such as David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People, starring thinking person's celebrity Frances McDormand (previews begin February 8). Members can bring a guest of any age, so you can take that special old person in your life. 261 W 47th St between Seventh and Eighth Aves (212-399-3030, manhattantheatreclub.com)

MCC Theatre
This innovative stage group rewards youth with their $20 Under 30 program. You can only score one ticket per valid ID, so forget about smuggling in your big brother. This spring, catch plays such as The Other Place, starring Laurie Metcalf. Lucille Lortel Theatre, 121 Christopher St between Bleecker and Hudson Sts (212-279-4200, mcctheater.org)

STA Travel
Don't let the organization's former name—Student Travel Agency—fool you. If you're between 12 and 26, you can land deals on flights all over the world, even if you aren't prepping for finals. Savings are significant: Right now a March flight to Australia is about $300 cheaper using youth fares. STA East Village, 30 Third Ave at 9th St (212-473-6100, statravel.com)
