They're furry, they love a good belly rub, and they will not hesitate to take you down if you're causing trouble. Eight highly trained German shepherds were sworn into active duty last week after completing a rigorous 14-week course that focuses on bomb-related safety.
Each pooch, who lives with its human partner, bears the name of a fallen MTA officer or military hero. Take a peek at the video below for more on the K-9 program, which stands as the nation's largest with 50 dogs in service.
