Little Neck–Douglaston Memorial Day Parade

Honor fallen members of the United States Armed Forces at the largest of the city’s Memorial Day parades. Bring your handheld Old Glory and cheer on local members of the military, veterans, marching bands, Brownie troops and Boy Scouts as they march westward along Northern Boulevard in Queens from Great Neck to Douglaston. The parade is preceded by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Veterans Monument in the courtyard of the St. Anastasia Church (45-14 245th St at Northern Blvd, Douglaston, Queens; 11am). Parade route: Northern Blvd from Jayson Ave to 245th St, Douglaston, Queens. Summer Salute to Heroes: Memorial Day Weekend Kickoff

The Intrepid launches its summer programming over Memorial Day weekend, kicking things off with a free screening of classic Cruise flick Top Gun (May 24 at 7:30pm). On May 25 and May 26, watch demonstrations and performances by the U.S. Coast Guard, USO Show Troupe and others. Honor fallen servicemen and women at a Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony (May 27 at 11am), or listen to Emmy Award–winning news anchor David Ushery discuss the nation’s segregated WWII armed forces with veterans (May 28 6–7:30pm; R.S.V.P. to educationevents@intrepidmuseum.org).

Historic Green-Wood Cemetery Memorial Day Concert

The ISO Symphonic Band airs works by some of the cemetery's permanent residents—including Fred Ebb, Louis Moreau Gottschalk and Leonard Bernstein—at the 15th annual Memorial Day concert. After the musical interlude, join historian Jeff Richmond on a trolley mini tour ($15; reservations recommended), highlighting military points of interest such as DeWitt Clinton’s bronze statue, Battle Hill and the Civil War Soldiers’ Lot.

Save yourself the subway fare—for 28 days only, this semiannual pop-up market brings the best grub from throughout the five boroughs right to Madison Square Park. Third Rail Coffee will collaborate with Brooklyn locavores DreamScoops on an affogato, ice cream topped with a shot of hot espresso. Meanwhile, fest standby Momofuku Milk Bar returns with crowd favorites (crack pies and cereal milk), and Bushwick pie maestros Roberta's bring back their popular Margheritas. Along with Mexican-meets-BBQ sliders (pulled pork with guac and pickled red onions), Mexicue will pour out brand new South of the Border quaffs—classic margaritas and a Mexican lemonade—all made with agave wine in lieu of tequila.

Dance-music deity François K and his Deep Space soiree—focusing on dub in all its glorious, echo-drenched forms, but extending its reach to all types of underground dance music—have been ruling Monday nights for years. And we're guessing they will for years to come; it's simply one of the best things going in NYC clubland. Mr. K is away this week—but he's leaving the shindig in good hands, with Dub War's Dave Q delivering his low-end musings.
