Your perfect weekend

Brooklyn

We never expected to redefine our relationship with Brooklyn based on the possibility that Jay-Z and Beyonc would become residents. They’re mulling the $25 million Clock Tower in Dumbo, and if they buy it, they can duet to “Crazy in Love” in the shower with views of the Statue of Liberty. See if any Roc Nation interns are hauling stuff inside 1 Main Street before heading to the Pop-Up Art Sale (Dumbo Arts Center, 30 Washington St at Water St; 718-694-0831; Fri 6--9pm, Sat noon--8pm, Sun noon--6pm; free). Artists—178, in fact—will sell work starting at $50. Half of the proceeds benefit the DAC, artists keep the rest, and you head home with a piece of Brooklyn.

Manhattan

Last week we told you about City Bakery’s Annual Hot Chocolate Festival (3 W 18th St between Fifth and Sixth Aves, hotchocolatefestival.com; through Sun 28), but February is also Pancake Month at Clinton Street Baking Co. (4 Clinton St between E Houston and Stanton Sts; 646-602-6263, visit clintonstreetbaking.com for a flavor calendar and hours). The event’s final night features its most decadent plate-size special: crunchy-banana pancakes served with cinnamon-chili-chocolate sauce ($15). Chase them with a Blueberry Smash ($10) while you wish, feeling strange but full of conviction, that February in Manhattan lasted all year long—if only for the food fests.
