Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, Eminem and more acts—including YouTube celebs— will play the awards ceremony in NYC.
Tue Oct 1 2013
Viral videos will get their due on November 3 with the inaugural YouTube Music Awards. The site is throwing a stacked ceremony at Pier 36 on the Lower East Side with Lady Gaga, Eminem and Arcade Fire headlining. Upstart artists will also get their moment in the spotlight, with the goal of honoring musicians who've risen thanks to the video platform.
Nominees for six to-be-announced categories will be revealed October 17 based on user views, shares and spin-offs. After that, it's up to you: The winners will be selected by popular votes, so get clicking. Voting will be limited to once per person per day for each award category. The Jason Schwartzman–hosted event will live-stream—guess where?—under Spike Jonze's creative direction.
Check out video below of the awards' announcement as well as some such artists who will be performing, including dubstep violinist Lindsey Stirling and classically trained musician-comedians CDZA.
