Description
Hicham Benmira and Brian Cousins—cofounders of Boerum Hill antiques shop Darr—didn’t travel far to open their new men’s clothing boutique: Just across Atlantic Avenue is their latest venture, Hollander and Lexer. Filled with a mix of vintage accessories, including 2,000-year-old brass rings ($150–$350), and such present-day fashions as deconstructed jackets by Engineered Garments ($380) and Filson canvas bags ($97–$300), the space shares the rugged feel of Darr. Not a surprise, since that shop supplies elk antlers ($55) and dried sea urchins ($45), among other decorative props, which are for sale at both stores.
