Description
Nestled in the heart of the already teeming Ludlow Street scene, you’ll find Pianos (yes, it’s a former piano factory). The space itself is cool: The front room holds a bar and serves food; the dark, slightly cramped band room is behind it; and upstairs, there’s a sprawling lounge with comfy couches and trend-conscious DJs.
The problem is that on almost any given night, especially after 11pm, every inch of the place is packed, making it maddening to navigate. Despite the somewhat poor sound, Pianos remains a hot spot for DJs and rock and dance bands, with a calendar peppered with up-and-coming bands (and those who would like to be so).
