Super high-tech, and gloriously sparkling-clean, this three-level spa, which opened in February 2007, seems like an unlikely fit for 33rd Street. But it doesn't really matter where it's located, because the spa itself feels like a strange, other world. Buried within the space, in traditional Korean spa style, four igloo-like saunas (a Hawangto Dry Grotto, a Crystal & Jade Dry Grotto, a Crystal & Jade Steam Grotto, and a Stone Ice Grotto) glow from within an otherwise dark room. After the appropriate amount of time, your technician will shepherd you to one of the many treatment rooms—dedicated to everything from acupuncture (start at $65) and massages (start at $70) to Korean body scrubs (start at $90) and microdermabrasion facials (start at $120). At 12,000-square-feet, it's likely that you won't even see another client, unless you stay post-service to enjoy a treat at the organic juice bar. As a huge bonus, the spa is open, seven days a week, from 10am to 2am.
