B.B.’s joint in Times Square is a squeaky-clean showcase for a wide variety of music: Cover bands and soul tributes fill the gaps between big-name bookings such as Aretha Franklin, Angie Stone and its titular blues legend. The wide-open space also makes room for metal acts (Morbid Angel, Emperor) and hip-hop stars (Ghostface, Slick Rick). The supper-club concept means the best seats are at the dinner tables up front, but menu prices are steep. The Harlem Gospel Choir buffet brunch on Sundays raises the roof, while live classic rock, jazz and blues play for free most nights at Lucille’s, the cozy restaurant named for King’s cherished guitar.
