Jeffrey Deitch is an art-world impresario whose gallery features live spectacles almost as often as it presents large-scale—and sometimes overly ambitious—efforts by artists who work in virtually all media. (By comparison, Deitch’s original Grand Street site seems small and sedate, but it’s the one we most confidently recommend.) Solo shows here, by the likes of Chris Johansen and Yoko Ono, aim to be both complex and accessible. And sometimes they are. Other location: 76 Grand St between Greene and Wooster Sts (212-343-7300).
