Constructed on the site of a prehistoric settlement… If this sounds like the beginning of a Stephen King novel, fear not, the outcome here is guaranteed to be wholly benign. An investigation into life on the Riviera 400,000 years ago, the Terra Amata makes use of a variety of prehistoric artefacts to answer the question emblazoned across one of its walls: 'where do we come from?' A human footprint in limestone, a cave encampment and crude stone tools are just a few of the clues that our hirsute forebears left scattered behind them.
